What A Doll
Fashion Doll Art & Costuming By: Jennifer Holmes Buell
I have collected dolls of all kinds every since I can remember. My first fashion doll was a Malibu Barbie for my 6th birthday. Actually, I received the whole deal... Barbie, Ken, and that wonderful doll carrier that had room for dolls, clothes, and even that little coat rack for all of Barbie's hanging items. I still have that complete set, and although not in the same condition as when I first received them, they show the wear of love that I have always had for dolls.

What little girl didn't cut her doll's hair or paint her face with bright blue eye shadow and red lipstick? Well, most of us did, but some of us never grew out of it. I have always enjoyed history, and fashion. Somewhere in the middle of all of this, the two worlds met with my love of dolls and have become a source of therapy and fun for me. I enjoy working with most 1/6 scale dolls, such as Barbie, and the Fashion Royalty vinyl dolls, as well as the larger 1/5 scale Tonner, Effanbee and Alex dolls. Recently, I have added those Obitsu articulated beauties, also known as BJD to my favorites list. I truly enjoy the doll art that I create as a result of what fashion & history teaches me. I truly hope you will enjoy them too.
